Newsletter:Sept ’12 “FAMILY”
You may be wondering, what possible new thing can this Month’s Newsletter teach about the concept of family? Traditionally we all have a particular picture of what family is. There is not a man or woman on this earth who is not a member of some “family”.
There is one great family to which I would like the reader to be aware of. It is a family of far more importance than any family on earth. To belong to it entitles a human being to far greater privileges. It is the family of which Paul hints on to the Ephesians when he tells them of the “whole family in heaven and on earth.” It is the family of God.
As we were travelling back from a wonderful trip this past Sunday, we visited the natural park of Fontfroide, the Cistercian Abbey and we enjoy the calm of a wild valley, nice beach of the Mediterranean Sea, Port la Nouvelle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rogVulwYe6c. I dosed off. I was in the state of “Hypnagogia” (which is said to be the Unique State of Consciousness between being awake and asleep) and I clearly heard the Holy Spirit speak to me “Those who do not go weary and do not loose heart, the Lord shall exalt, today my daughter the Lord has elevated you, “Well today, the Lord Almighty has given you aFAMILY”.
This amazes me in many many ways. First of all, surely God has a completely different perspective of what family is, and apart from Grace, one cannot build a family.
Firstly, we look at the “Family of God”and secondly we look at God’s heart —that which gives Her pleasure, of how She builds a family for an individual.
The household of faith, the mystical body of the The Beacon Of Light, the groom, the living temple, the sheep that never perish, the Church of the firstborn. All these expressions are “the family of God”
Membership in “the family of God,” does not depend on any earthly connection. It does not come by natural birth, but by new birth, transformed or transmuted beings. Parents cannot give it to their children. To belong to it you must be born again. No one but the Holy Spirit can make you a living member of this family. Those who choose to be re born are born “not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”
They are all children of God by faith. They are all born of one Spirit. They are all sons and daughters of the Lord Almighty. They have received the Spirit of sonship or daughtership. They do not regard God with a cringing kind of fear, as they would to a harsh being that is always ready to punish them. They look up to Her with tender confidence, as a reconciled and loving parent.
As an heir of God, you inherit all the blessings of God, including infinity, healing, prosperity, wholeness, favor, intimacy with God and walking in the devine purpose for one’s life. Being a part of the family of God is the greatest blessing bestowed upon human beings and one that should drive us to humble adoration. We can never do anything to deserve it for it is a gift of love, mercy and grace to us, yet, we are called to become sons and daughters of the Living God.
The Beacon Of Light our Sun Re is a centerpiece of this family, “Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand in guard in vain.” Imagine when you were first born into this world, you were just this small dot which grew to become brighter, more brilliant and bigger.
Thus, God appeared to Jacob in a dream and promised the same thing He had promised his grandfather the husbandman Abraham and his father Isaac-that is, to make of his offspring into a great nation.
“The LORD had said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing…”
How many of us would leave behind everything that is familiar to us and just go to unknown lands? The concept of family meant everything to a person living in the times of Abraham as it still does to us today. But more so in that times of Abraham one can imagine; family units were strongly knit; it was unusual for family members to live hundreds of miles apart from each other. But you see, it is when you lose yourself that you find yourself again in our God. Some may say, Re, should I do like you and go to another continent? No, It doesn’t have to be 10.000km, it could be just 200km—When God says move, you move because She wants to extend you, to build you a family.
When God build you a family:
- She means that She will make you a mother or a father of a great nation.
- She will give you purpose, cause the people around you to see you like She sees you.
- It means She will choose & bring you people that will help you push forward the vision given to you.
- It means She will cause unity for one cause amongst the people – build Herself a great nation in you
Think about Apple Inc. it’s a company that began in a garage of the family home of the late Steve Job’s family home, and today the family of Apple Inc. covers the globe. God will connect you. God places people in your life. Not only that, but God makes it possible that you impact their lives tremendously, that you create leaders in them, world changers. Have you ever worked in a company and felt that you were part of a bigger picture, inspired to contribute to humanity, as if you were like a family in your department? When God blesses you, She places you in a company or in the midst of people who will be more than just a husband, friends, colleagues or co-workers or just a boss. The people around you bring support to you and you support them. And you see your vision connects sometimes to different people only for a while then you or they must move on to branch off somewhere else and so on and so forth but some remain regardless you are forever connected to everybody in love to infinity forever.
Most of us, when we think of family we think in terms of a man and a woman in a marriage, their children and the extended family. And even if this is true and very important, it is a smaller picture of what God regards as family. God thinks “BIG” all the time. “Anyone who follow the will of God (for his or her life by unpacking their talents) in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!”
So I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to be part of a bigger picture, make a difference, be plugged in and appreciate those around you, look beyond yourself and be part of a family of God as you trust the Lord’s guidance for your future endeavors. We at PLICC can never be big enough for you so you are welcome here, soak in the love and grace and let’s unite for something larger than ourselves. You are loved, Re loved you forever and ever.
