Newsletter:Sept ’12 “FAMILY”

You may be wondering, what’s new to learn about the concept of family? Traditionally we all have a particular picture of what family is. There is not a man or woman on this earth who is not a member of a “family”.

There is one great family though to which I would like the reader to be aware of. It is a family of far more importance than any family on earth. To belong to it entitles a human being to far greater privileges. It is the family of which Paul hints on to the Ephesians when he told them of the “whole family in heaven and on earth.” It is the family of God.

As we were travelling back from a wonderful trip this past Sunday, we visited the natural park of Fontfroide, the Cistercian Abbey and we enjoy the calm of a wild valley, nice beach of the Mediterranean Sea, Port la Nouvelle. As I was in the state of “Hypnagogia” (which is said to be the Unique State of Consciousness between being awake and asleep), I clearly heard the Holy Spirit speak to me “Those who do not go weary and do not loose heart, the Lord shall exalt; …today my daughter the Lord has elevated you, “Well today, the Lord Almighty has given you a FAMILY”.

This amazes me in many many ways because I had thought I knew what family is. First of all, surely God has a completely different perspective of what family is, and apart from Grace, one cannot build a family.

Firstly, we look at the “Family of God”and secondly we look at God’s heart —that which gives Her pleasure, of how She builds a family for an individual.

The household of faith, the mystical body of the The Beacon Of Light, the groom, the living temple, the sheep that never perish, the Church of the firstborn. All these expressions are “the family of God” what was also promised to Abraham; a family to God’s is a NATION. It’s a structured family with a throne whereby nations of the world are all members of one family to serve the throne.

Membership in “the family of God,” does not depend on any earthly connection meaning biologically. It does not come by natural birth, but by faith & new birth, rebirth, transformed or transmuted beings. Parents cannot give it to their children. To belong to it you must be born again. No one but the Holy Spirit can make you a living member of this family. At Pentecost the Holy Spirit shall Baptize you and make you family with Re. Those who choose to be re born are born “not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a parent’s will, but born of God.”

They are all children of God by faith. They are all born of one Spirit. They are all daughters and sons of the Lord Almighty. They have received the Spirit of daughtership or sonship.  They do not regard God with a cringing kind of fear, as they would to a harsh being that is always ready to punish them. They look up to Her with tender confidence, as a reconciled and loving Mother, a parent.

As an heir of God, you inherit all the blessings of God, including infinity, healing, prosperity, wholeness, favor, intimacy with God and walking in the Divine purpose for one’s life. Being a part of the family of God is the greatest blessing bestowed upon human beings and one that should drive us to humble adoration towards Re. We can never do anything to deserve it for it is a gift of love, mercy and grace to us, yet, we are called to become sons and daughters of the Living God.

The Beacon Of Light our Sun Re is a centerpiece of this family, “Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand in guard in vain.”  Imagine when you were first born into this world, you were just this small dot which grew to become brighter, more brilliant and bigger.

Thus, God spoke to Re, to make of Her offspring into a great nation.

The LORD had said to Re, ‘Leave your country, your people and your mother’s and father’s land of birth and go to the France, a land of promise. It is I, the Lord your God that will take you there and no one will glory in it. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing…”

How many of us would leave behind everything that is familiar to us and just go to unknown lands? The concept of family meant everything to us; Zulu family units are strong tight knits; in the past it was not usual for family members to live hundreds of miles apart from each other. But you see, it is when you lose yourself that you find yourself again in our God. When God says move, you move because She wants to extend you, to build you a family.

When God build you a family:

  • She means that She will make you a mother and or father of a great nation.
  • She will give you purpose, a cause for the family around you to see you like God sees you.
  • It means She will choose & bring you people that will become family, people that will help you push forward the vision given to you by God.
  • It means She will cause unity for one cause amongst the people – build Herself a great nation in you

God will connect you. God places people in your life. Not only that, but God makes it possible that you impact their lives tremendously, that you create leaders in them, world changers. Have you ever worked in a company and felt that you were part of a bigger picture, inspired to contribute to humanity, as if you were like a family in your department? When God blesses you, She places you in a company or in the midst of people who will be more than just a husband, children, friends, colleagues or co-workers or just a boss. The people around you that will bring support to you and you support them the same, a vision that connects people forever.

Most of us, when we think of family we think in terms of a man and a woman in a marriage, their children and the extended family. And even if this is true and very important, it is a smaller picture of what God regards as family. God thinks “BIG” all the time. “Anyone who follow the will of God (for his or her life by unpacking their talents) in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!

So I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to be part of a bigger picture, make a difference, be plugged into us here at PLICC.
